Good afternoon. We had a busy day today! Today we continued to work on place value in math, took our first benchmark for reading, and started our math benchmark too. Tomorrow, students will be vision screened. A letter regarding this went home yesterday. If you do not wish to have your student’s vision checked, please sign the bottom portion of the letter that went home.

Below is our 2014-15 daily schedule. Please note that we have our fitness run every morning. The only exception to this is when we have rain, below freezing temperatures, or the smog index is too high. Please send your student with appropriate clothing and footwear. Students are welcome to change from their running shoes to their “cute” shoes after the run. Our P.E. days are Mondays and Fridays, and Library is Thursday afternoon.

Welcome back! I hope you had a great summer! Thank you for checking out our blog. This is a great place for you to get updates, class forms, and homework. Your students had a busy day today learning about our class rules, routines, and expectations. In their homework section of their binder is a letter from me explaining those procedures. Please read through it with your student to reinforce what we learned today.

This spring room 13 will join the other 4th and 5th grade classes in the Central Point Street Clean-up. We have been assigned our school neighborhood streets. Students will work some community service by picking up litter. If you would like to see the Central Point safety guidelines, click below.

Join Room 13 teams, The Champs and The Mustached Muricans, as they battle the other 3-5th classes for the best Sportsmanship title. We play today (3-6) at 12:45, Wednesday (3-12) at 12:45, Friday (3-14), and Tuesday (3-18) at 12:45.
It’s Hockey Season!
Room 13 students begin their classroom hockey tournament today. The kids have been divided into six teams and will be competing in a tournament until March. This experience will get us ready for the 1st annual CPE hockey/sportsmanship tournament beginning in March. Go Cobras, Smarties, Flaming Pucks, K9s, Mr. Hadley’s Favorites, and Dark Thunder! Play hard!
