Candy Apple Fund Raiser

Below is a copy of the e-mail that Mrs. Mullings sent me regarding our candy apple fund raiser.  If you can donate any of the needed supplies please contact me.  The money from this fund raiser will go towards spring field trips.  Let’s keep it rolling.

Wow!!!! Apple sales have been doing really well. So far we have raised almost $300. The plan is to do 1 more bushel of apples. That will finish up the month of December. I have special orders waiting to be filled. I will pick the apples up from Harry & David. But we do still need a few ingredients for toppings.

  • Semi-sweet Chocolate chips
  • mini M&Ms (from the bulk bins at WinCo)
  • Butterfingers
  • Shredded coconut
  • graham crackers
  • marshmallows
  • white chocolate chips
  • pecans
  • Dry Roasted Almonds
  • Dry Roasted Peanuts
  • Walnuts
  • Heath Bar Bits
  • Mixed Nuts
  • Chick-O-Stix (from the bulk bins at WinCo)

Let’s finish up strong!!!

What are you going to do with your time off?

With two weeks off of school it is imporant to stay sharp.  Here are some ideas that you can do with your students to stay school ready.

1. Keep a journal of your vacation.  Encourage your child to read their work aloud listening for any mistakes in the writing.

2. READ, READ, READ, the public library is open and full of wonderful books.

3. Practice the math facts.  For fact practice pages click here.

Holiday Party

I’m looking for a parent who would like to organize our holiday party this year. The party will be on Friday, December 18th after lunch. If you would like to help organize some activities please let me know as soon as possible. I will put other parents who want to help in contact with you. (Sorry this is not a paying gig, your only reward is the satisfaction you get from 29 smiling faces.) Thank you!

The Facts about the Facts

Dear Parents and Families,

Elementary education is the foundation for all future schooling.  One of these building blocks is the memorization of the multiplication facts.  I will be sending home packets of practice sheets.  Please work with your student on these sheets.  Memorizing the multiplication facts will build your child’s confidence in Math and lay the foundation for future Math classes.  These do not need to be turned back in.  If you would like more sheets, let me know and I will send some more to you.

Thank you for your support at home.  All of the little things that you are doing will make a huge difference for your child.

Take care,

Mr. Hadley
