Spring conferences begin next week on Wednesday. Last Thursday, I sent home conference slips. If you have not returned your slip to me, please do so as soon as possible. This will allow me to firm up our schedule. Attached is the tentative schedule. Thank you.

Spring is quickly racing toward us. The weather has become unpredictable, and our students eagerly anticipate their break. With the spring comes our annual Sams Valley Hockey Tournament. Room 10 will be represented this year by the third grade Pioneers, and the fourth grade Ice Hawks. If you’d like to catch a game click on the link below for a pdf of the game schedule. Spring conferences are also coming up. Please be checking your student’s backpacks for their conference slip and return it to me as soon as possible. I look forward to meeting with each of you.

Dear parents and families,
Next week is a busy week for Room 10 kids. Monday brings up Valentine’s Day. We will celebrate by opening Valentines and having a snack. Valentines are not required. If you and your child choose to bring Valentines, please be sure that there is one for every student in our class. Also, notes in the cards must be positive in nature. This has been a problem in the past.
On Tuesday, our kids will begin the State Writing Assessment. Our kids have been working very hard writing, revising, and learning about how their papers will be scored. Now is the time for them to show off what they have learned. Please spend some time talking with your child about the importance of doing their best, taking their time, and paying attention to detail in their writing. Students will have three days (1 hour per day) to work on this test. If a student needs more time, time will be given the following week.
There will be no school on Friday, February 18th. This is a budget cut day before the President’s day weekend.
