Conference time is upon us. This is a valuable time for parents and teachers to work together and set goals for our kids for the rest of the year. The link below is my tentative schedule. Today I will be sending home a slip with your student’s time. If this time does not work please indicate by email, comment to this post, or on the form sent home which time block would work better for you. As you can see from the schedule I have time available Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. Thank you and have a great day!
Monday and Tuesday we read about owls. Check out the link on the right under the “cool stuff” heading to see if the owl box webcam is on. Feel free to comment on what you see!

Wow! I cannot believe that it is November already! It feels like the first day of school was just yesterday. However, the frost on my window this morning reminded me that November is definitely here. Thursday the 27th was our McGregor Park field trip. Our kids were fantastic! Several rangers commented to me on the excellent behavior of our class. A big thank you to the parent volunteers who braved the morning chill to be with us.
The upcoming Thanksgiving holiday brings us our first round of parent-teacher conferences. This is an extremely valuable meeting where get to celebrate your students strengths and set goals for the rest of the school year. If you have any special needs regarding conference schedule, please let me know. I look forward to meeting with all of you.

Welcome back to school. I hope you have had a restful summer and are ready to get back to work. Though I miss my Sams Valley friends and families I’m very excited to get started at Central Point Elementary. Please take a few minutes to explore our blog. I update this often so be sure to come back. Look to the right of your screen. You should see some links. Click around and check out some of the cool stuff available! If you know of others that you think room 13 students would like to see let me know.
If you are looking at this now, you should be outside soaking up the sun. 🙂 However, if you are someone who needs some computer time once in a while be sure to check out the links to the right. You will find bookadventure.org, a cool site where you can quiz yourself over books that you have read and earn cool prizes. You will also find math games to help keep your math facts sharp. Don’t forget to check out the owl box link too. You never know what you will find. Check back often because I’ll put up new links as I find them.

Room 10 is sponsoring a “stuffed animal volleyball game” during field day thing year. If you have an older stuffed animal and or a few beach towels that we could borrow for the day, please contact me as soon as possible.
