September is in the books. Room 13 kids enjoyed two outdoor adventures. Our first trip was to McGregor Park on the Rogue River. Here students learned about local forest management and botany. Next, our kids endured a long bus ride to Lava Beds National Park for some cave exploration. We had incredible weather for both trips. I really appreciate the excellent behavior that our kids showed. Our first trips were fun, educational, and exciting. Truly a great way to start the school year.
October is shaping up to be a busy month too. This week we have our Roadrunner Run fund raiser. Room 13 is scheduled to run on Thursday at 1:45. We are still looking for parent volunteers. If you are interested, please email and I’ll set you up. On October 23 we have a trip to Crater Lake National Park. This trip is pending the government re-opening in time. Keep your fingers crossed. October 31 is the Sam’s Valley Mini-marathon. This annual event is open to all 4th and 5th graders in the district and has been going on since 1974!
As you can see the 2013 school year is off to a fast start. Thank you for sending such incredible kids to work with everyday.
