Reading Logs and Missing Assignments

Dear Parents and Families,

This is just a note regarding recent confusion about the weekly reading logs and missing assignment reports. Students are asked to read for 30 minutes per night. After reading, students are to “log” their reading on the reading log. Parents do not need to do anything on this form. Students are responsible for filling out the form on their own. However some students may need encouragement to begin the reading assignment. Reading logs are due on Mondays or the first day of the school week. These are recorded, scored, and included in the Reading grade.

If your student has missing reading logs on the weekly missing assignment report, they may make these up by writing a book review paragraph. Please have them write one book review per missing log. Students may write these on any book that they are reading.

Attached is a missing assignment report for your student. Subjects are labeled and missing assignments are listed for each subject. If your student is not missing an assignment for a subject, it will be marked complete. If your student is missing assignments, please have them look for them and turn them in. If they need extra copies of an assignment, please have them write a letter detailing what assignments they may need copies of. I will get them to them as I can. Please sign this report and return it to school with your student acknowledging that you have seen it.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion. Thank you and have a great weekend!
